Our committee is currently working hard on the Legislative Issues Conference to be held in October. The purpose of the conference is to hear about and discuss legislation that is currently before the State House and Senate that affects our children. We have invited some of our legislators who either Chair or sit on the Education Committee to come and speak regarding any of this proposed legislation and its intended effect on Alaska’s children. We will also review the Alaska State PTA 2011 legislative platform determine if there are any other issues that need to be brought forward to the February fly-in to Juneau.
